Hey,
My name Hana Abubaker am a photographer and visual researcher, born in 1999, with a background in Economics and Social Sciences. I work through my lens to explore the intersections of culture, identity, social justice, and equal participation. My practice focuses on documenting the experiences of women and girls across diverse contexts, particularly within the informal sector and in areas of conflict and displacement. I hold a deep belief in the power of visual arts to advocate for rights, drive social change, and preserve cultural memory.
I employ visual storytelling and multidisciplinary art forms as tools to raise critical questions and spark dialogue around identity, belonging, and lived experiences. My work centers on themes of cultural and spatial memory, emphasizing their profound impact on women, girls, and children. Through my artistic practice, I aim to build a human-centered visual archive that preserves and celebrates diverse stories and identities.
